WATCH: Passenger Jumps Off Cruise Ship, Gets Banned for Life

A video has surfaced of a male cruise passenger who decided to jump off the balcony of a Royal Caribbean ship docked in Nassau, Bahamas.

According to Fox13News.com, the Washington man identified as Nick Naydev was sailing on the Symphony of the Seas last week and decided to jump from the 11th floor of the massive ship to the waiting water below.

Video of the young man jumping from the ship went viral on social media:

Naydev survived the fall of at least 100 feet and a small vessel rescued him and took him to shore. When he attempted to board the Royal Caribbean ship again, he was met by security personnel and Nassau police.

“I am truly astonished at how this video has spread throughout the internet,” Naydev told FOX 13. “I did not think this through before I jumped. My idea was this would be a good laugh for my friends and I would just swim back to shore and continue my vacation and never thought this would be this serious.”

While the police in The Bahamas “thought the whole situation was amusing and did not proceed to file any legal actions,” according to Naydev, Royal Caribbean did not find the incident funny.

As a result of the jump, Naydev was kicked off the ship and banned from sailing with the cruise line for life along with his entire party. In addition, the young man and his friends were forced to pay their way home from Nassau.
