IHG Brings Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants to Germany

The rapidly expanding Kimpton brand is slated to make its appearance in Germany in 2023.

The first property in the country will be in Frankfurt, located in a listed building in the heart of the city.

MORE Hotel & Resort

Plans for the Kimpton Frankfurt include 155 guest rooms, two large meeting rooms and an onsite gym. There will also be a signature restaurant, and in the future, a sky-bar and restaurant on the roof terrace will be added.

The boutique hotel will be part of a pioneering development project known as FOUR Frankfurt, a unique high-rise in the middle of the city’s central banking district featuring office, residential and retail space. The mixed-use project will highlight innovative sustainable design and be home to 5,000 people for both business and residential purposes.

The hotel design effort will be led by UNStudio architects.

“Being one of Europe’s largest financial hubs, Frankfurt is a key location for us and this signing is a great milestone in Kimpton’s European expansion,” Kenneth Macpherson, CEO of Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa (EMEAA) at IHG, said. “We’re proud to partner with Groß & Partner to bring the brand to Germany, where IHG is growing at pace. Guests staying at Kimpton Frankfurt can expect Kimpton’s signature bold and playful design, luxury, personalised service and truly local feel.”

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants was acquired by Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) in 2015. The luxury boutique brand already operates 66 hotels and 80 restaurants, bars and lounges in the U.S., Caribbean, and Europe.

Amsterdam’s Kimpton De Witt was the first Kimpton property to open outside of the Americas in May 2017. Continuing the brand’s expansion across Europe, IHG has announced plans to debut the brand in the UK and to open Kimpton Paris in 2020, with more European signings in the pipeline.

Additional international Kimpton properties are in the works in Tokyo, Taipei, Bali, Shanghai and Sanya.
