Why You Should Visit Colorado for Your Next Vacation

There are a lot of beautiful places in the country to discover on your next vacation. If you want to visit a state that has something for everyone, you should check out Colorado. From outdoor attractions to lively cities, there is no end to the fun activities to try and sights to see.

The Outdoors Attractions

One of the best things about Colorado is there is so much to do outdoors. According to Explore-Share, Rocky Mountain National Park has great hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. Located near Colorado Springs, the Garden of the Gods is filled with jagged mountains, making it a great place for rock climbing. Colorado also features great spots for whitewater rafting, particularly on the Arkansas River. Jackson Lake State Park features sandy beaches and crystal clear water to cool off in. Aspen and Vail are world-renowned spots for winter sports and activities like snowboarding, skiing, and tubing.

City Life

Aside from all there is to do outdoors, Colorado cities have a lot to offer as well. Denver and Boulder both have numerous breweries, so you can always find somewhere to try locally brewed beer. The Pearl Street Mall in Boulder is a pedestrian mall filled with restaurants, breweries, and shopping. Denver has a lot of cultural attractions, including the Denver Art Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Recreational marijuana is legal statewide and there are plenty of places to buy itthough make sure to bring cash. According to Kind Regards, cannabis stores are generally not allowed to accept credit cards or debit cards.

Ghost Towns

According to Drivin’ & Vibin’, Colorado is uniquely filled with ghost towns to explore. Nearly all are former mining towns that visitors can explore. St. Elmo, located about 100 miles west of Colorado Springs, is the most popular. It has an old saloon, jail, and numerous preserved buildings from the 1920s. Independent Ghost Town, located outside of Vail, has abandoned stables, an old general store, and more. Since it is located in the mountains, it can only be accessed in the summer months. Colorado’s ghost towns are great places to learn about history and pick up unique souvenirs for your friends back home.

There are so many reasons why Colorado should be at the top of your travel list in the states. If you want to spend time in scenic nature and enjoy local food and drink, there are places across the state that will fulfill your desires. With so much to discover in Colorado, it will be hard to go back home again.
