Two men were arrested at a Nashville airport Tuesday when they were caught with 159 pounds of marijuana in four oversized checked bags.
According to ABCNews.com, 40-year-old Trung Tieu of Philadelphia and 56-year-old Tihn Van Tran of Murphy, Texas, were traveling through Nashville International Airport on their way to Jacksonville when they were stopped by security.
Officers working at the airport used a drug-sniffing German shepherd to examine their bags, which reeked of air freshener. Tieu and Tran were arrested Tuesday night and charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell. While Tran was released late Wednesday night, Tieu was being held on a detainer by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and was not eligible for release.
While prices for marijuana in the United States vary significantly according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Nashville police said the 159 pounds of confiscated weed would be worth over $50,000 on the streets.
