Monday, August 23 – Museum Mondays – Celebrate Viking Octantis godmother Liv Arnesen’s book Skiing into the Bright Open. The first time released in English, the book recounts Liv’s historic and exhilarating journey to the South Pole in 1994. Following this session there will be a live Q&A.
Tuesday, August 24 – Resident Historian Tuesdays – Guest lecturer William Thayer will trace the expeditions of famed Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen to the South Pole, North Pole and Northwest Passage in his lecture: “Roald Amundsen.” The session will be followed by a live Q&A.
Wednesday, August 25 – Wanderlust Wednesdays – Join the Viking Expeditions team as they share the latest news and updates, as Viking prepares to launch its first expedition vessel, Viking Octantis, in early 2022. The session will be followed by a live Q&A.
Thursday, August 26 – Guest Speaker Thursdays – Anne Diamond will interview Sue Stockdale, the first UK woman to ski to the magnetic North Pole. During the conversation, they will discuss her time as a polar explorer, and what she is up to currently. Ask questions during a live Q&A session after the conversation.
Friday, August 27 – Fridays At Home…in the Arctic Circle – Virtually explore the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway with host, Risten, as she shares insights into the culture of the Sami people.
Saturday, August 28 – Mind and body with Mona Therese
Sunday, August 29 – Karine Explores the Arctic – This week, Karine explores the flora and fauna of the Arctic and shares more on Viking’s two new expedition ships, Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris.
