Longreach Aviation, an aviation industry recruitment agency that previously planned to hire up to 200 disgruntled Cathay Pacific Airways pilots, canceled a hiring event on Tuesday due to warnings from the Chinese government that its hiring practices might be illegal.
“We regret to advise you that, due to circumstances beyond our control, the roadshows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday have had to be cancelled,” wrote one recruiter in an email to prospective pilots.
