New Food Options Coming To LaGuardia Terminal B

Terminal B at New York‘s LaGuardia Airport will be getting new food options later this year as part of the complex transformation going on at the airport that never sleeps.

The new design incorporates pedestrian bridges that aircraft will be able to pass under making it possible for jets to access concourses from multiple directions. Image: LaGuardia Gateway Partners

The new terminal B, which is being built as the existing terminal continues to operate, will incorporate pedestrian bridges that aircraft will be able to pass under as they taxi to and from the runway. It solves the problem of aircraft having to hold short of busy “alleyways” when taxiing to the gate after landing since planes leaving the gate will be able to taxi away from the terminal in another direction.

The reinvention of LaGuardia wouldn’t be complete without some equally exciting dining options that are being brought into the fold by LaGuardia Gateway Partners – the entity rebuilding and operating Terminal B at LaGuardia.

Here are some of the new spots arriving on the scene announced by HMSHost in a recent release:

Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs (no hormones or antibiotics – ever), fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle-cut fries, craft beer, wine and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.

New York City chef Julian Medina brings his authentic Mexican taqueria La Chula to Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport. La Chula offers traditional and freshly prepared tacos and margaritas in a trendy unique atmosphere for travelers on the go. With popular locations in East Harlem and Grand Central, La Chula will bring accessibility to five-star Mexican fare.

Osteria Fusco will bring an elevated approach to Italian cuisine, right into the airport led by Chef Scott Conant, a highly regarded New York chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. Osteria Fusco’s cuisine is refined and inspired by Conant’s grandmother, who lived in Italy, with house-made pasta and soulful dishes such as Pasta al Pomodoro, Rigatoni with Nonna’s Neopolitan meat ragu, and Chicken “Osso Bucco” with gremolata & baby vegetables. Chef Conant has also made many notable TV appearances including Chopped, Beat Bobby Flay and Best Baker in America among others.

“We couldn’t be more proud to have these absolutely excellent restaurants from the New York community as partners in LaGuardia Terminal B, and it is an honor to have them on board as we embark on serving LaGuardia travelers an outstanding culinary experience,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi. “We truly cannot wait to open these venues with LaGuardia Gateway Partners and its operating partner Vantage Airport Group to give travelers a memorable dining experience every time they are in the airport.”

HMSHost operates restaurants in New York’s JFK International Airport and in service plazas along the New York State Thruway, as well as Newark Liberty International Airport, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Expressway.
