American Airlines, which has been retrofitting several aircraft in its fleet of Boeing 777-200s to accommodate premium economy seating,has unveiled a day-of-departure upgrade program to offer flyers potential upgrades at check-in as long as seating is available aboard flights. While these upgrades will be paid for the majority of passengers, members of ConciergeKey and Executive Platinum members will have the ability to upgrade for free.
