Power Outage Causes Chaos at Wisconsin Airport

A power outage at a Wisconsin airport caused flight delays for several hours before being resolved at around noon Monday.

According to WKOW.com, officials from Dane County Regional Airport near Madison said the power outage was caused by a failure of an electrical delivery component, possibly the result of the intense cold in the region.

The Monday morning outage resulted in around 15 delayed flights, but the facility was still able to accept arrivals. Several hub connections were adjusted to accommodate the delayed flights.

The electrical failure caused airport officials to ask passengers on the concourse level to exit the facility and go through the Transportation Security Administration security protocols once again.

Travelers were prioritized by departure time.

Despite operations returning to normal, Dane County airport officials said passengers should check with their airline about the status of specific flights.
